Lynley Cannon’s FRIDAY FELINE FACTS & FANCIES, Lucky Black Cats

Lynley Cannon, star of the Crazy Cat Lady cozy mystery series, is often referred to as a crazy cat lady herself, but when it comes to the feline species, this sixty-something cat shelter volunteer knows her stuff. Check here each Friday for instructive and intriguing information on our favorite subject: cats!

Some superstitions claim that a black cat crossing one’s path bodes bad luck, but the Scots look upon our black moggies differently. In Scotland, an unfamiliar cat of black coloration suddenly appearing at the front door is a sign of good fortune.

About Mollie Hunt

I am the crazy cat lady, animal shelter volunteer, Trekkie, and mystery writer. I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest and will watch any TV show or movie filmed here. Even though I am of a goodly age (sixty-something) I go to Star Trek conventions in costume and am not afraid to be by myself. I enjoy my life in the cat lane. Words to live by: Spay and neuter; Live long and prosper; Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

  3. Bernadette says:

Years ago I learned that tortoiseshell cats and their variations are good luck, and I was owned by four of them at one point in my life. I asked them when the money would come rolling in. Now I’m owned by no fewer than 8 black cats. I think I figured out that the good fortune is not necessarily money. 🙂

  4. Catwoods says:

Good fortune has arrived with every black cat who came into our lives!

  5. Valentine says:
